Check out my video on You Tube !!! What the press has been saying .so far ........ “Whether he's leading the horn section in DTTB or doing his solo thing, part of the fun for the charismatic saxophonist is getting people up and dancing... one of smooth jazz's best discs of 2008.” – Jonathan Widran, All Music Guide "This entire CD brings together all of the puzzle pieces that were spread out through Shilts’ music career. Here, Shilts the composer, producer, and musician make it all fit. Jigsaw Life is one of the best offerings out this year" - Bonnie Schendell, SmoothViews.com "The buoyant, bubblicious flavoring of Shilts' jazz is one part music technology and the other part comes from the organic acoustic sounds that he tracks, with all parts soaked in an active imagination. "Jigsaw Life" could be his best work to date, but it certainly is not the end of the line for Shilts, who has many more shows in stored for audiences through 2008". - Susan Frances, Helium.com
************************************* I have had lots of emails asking why I have left Down To The Bone, well ............... This was a bitter sweet decision for me and one that was not made in haste. Basically, I formed the live DTTB band 11 years ago at the request of Stuart Wade and Chris Morgans, (at that time Internal Bass Records). DTTB was and has always been a production project. Stuart Wade ran the studio side and co-wrote the tunes along with the many musicians involved, such as Neil Angilley, Neil Cowley, Tim Best and myself, to name a few. I ran and have always ran the live band. This started as an all UK based band and we would travel to the US each year and do a tour. Over the years the band became less UK based and eventually came down to Neil Angilley on keys and myself (still as bandleader). This eventually became just myself when I moved to Los Angeles in 2004. Since that time DTTB has had a series of amazing US based musicians through its ranks (both on the East and West coast) but I remained the only original member. I have always acted in the best interests of DTTB and kept the vibe and music true to itself and how Stuart Wade intended it to be. However, I felt that the live band was never given the equal amount of recognition for the very important role it played in the success of the DTTB name. The credit was always claimed by one individual and very rarely was any given to the numerous people actually involved in the DTTB sound as a whole. Whether it be in the writing, recording, or production process and of course live side. Having been personally involved in all these aspects for 11 years. I felt it was time to put all the time and effort I did into DTTB, into my own music and move forward. For fans of the band. Don't worry as I will be performing with the same musicians (when they are available), as I booked to play with me in DTTB and will be playing a selection of my favourite DTTB tunes, along with my music in my new set. Everything will look and sound the same. So, it's business as usual, upbeat & funky, with that touch of British charm & wit!!! ....... just keep an eye on the live page for SHILTS & the DTTB Band dates near you soon... I hope this now answers any questions ....... ************************************** I am very happy to announce that I have signed with NuGroove records..
